Launched on 21st November 2021, it became an iconic landmark, seamlessly blending the region's rich heritage with Qatar's vision for the global stage.
The design's foundation was inspired by the infinity symbol of the World Cup logo, which was brought to life in a 3D sculptural form, offering audiences a dynamic, interactive experience as they viewed it from all angles.
The project presented significant technical challenges that required groundbreaking craftsmanship. The Möbius-inspired loop demanded precision engineering, as every section of the build was uniquely designed to twist and undulate across multiple planes. The three-dimensional LED hourglass, acted both as a functional timekeeper and a canvas for digital storytelling, pushing the boundaries of interactive design.
Critical to the success of such an ambitious and complex project, was to ensure the technical backbone operated seamlessly. Positioned in the heart of Doha, the bespoke hardware design took into account the intense heat from the sun, to ensure it would continue to operate flawlessly 24/7, while maintaining reliability and adaptability.
